Hi everyone! I hope your August is going great so far. If not, luckily the month just started. There’s still plenty of time π
Here’s something I wrote that started off as a random thought about the sky. It came to my mind when watching a sunset on a random day this summer. I turned that thought into this. (Whatever this is).
Enjoy!

Sometimes I just don’t get how the sky can look so beautiful. Filled with so many colors in every imaginable shade.
Pinks, purples, yellows, reds and endless amounts of blue.
The sky is always different from the day before and never the same the next.
A sunrise can be a promise of a new beginning while a sunset can bring you peace at the end of a long day.
No matter what the day after the sunrise brings, it will have started of beautifully. And no matter what happened before the sunset, you’re given a chance to let go off it and just watch the sky be glorious.
You’d think it would change something and yet we still live in a world where wars are raging, plastic is poisoning the oceans, families are being torn apart by addiction, people are killing themselves in an effort to look a certain way and mental illness and disease are taking down their victims like it’s nothing.
We still live in a world where people hate each other, but maybe more importantly, themselves, and where somewhere someone is afraid to embrace the person they love, simply because their gender isn’t the “right” one.
We still live in a world where people are falling apart in every corner of it.
There’s so much freaking injustice and still the sky is so goddamn beautiful.
It doesn’t make sense and yet somehow it does.
The sky can’t be touched and so it can’t be ruined either.

I hope you guys liked it π It’s been a while since I’ve written posts like this one but I really didn’t mind using my creative, writing side, especially since I haven’t been writing fiction or poetry at all this summer. It’s all about those baby steps right? I’m hoping to get back into the flow of it soon.
Thanks for reading everybody β€
Such a sensible post from someone with “a bad sense of humor” π
I don’t think that the sky can not be touched or polluted. When you touch it with a hang glider
you increase the beauty of the sky, when you touch it with wasteful usage of fossil fuels…

Thank you! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts – to imagine that some places you can barely even see the sky properly because of pollution… It’s awful

You’re probably right about that – here in Denmark the air pollution isn’t actually that bad π
